Experimental drugs saved Ebola patients

08-06-2014 16:41

Two American missionary workers who were infected by Ebola in Liberia last week, appeared to have improved significantly, CNN reports. Dr. Kent Brantly and Nancy Writebol, who worked with the Christian aid organization Samaritan’s Purse, reportedly infected the virus in late July from another health care worker at their hospital. The drug, developed by a San Diego–based biotech firm, had never before been tried in a human being, but had shown positive results in experiments with monkeys.
